I got my story idea from a Halibut fishing trip I took off Homer Spit, Alaska in 2012. The deckhand on the boat was a pretty redhead with some serious skills fileting fish! She was spunky and so darned cute I had to put her into a story. And we’ve seen shows about the Coast Guard guys rescuing people in Alaska. Yummy heroes, dangerous waters—a combination that makes the heart pound! Elle James

I’ve been writing like crazy, but Sunday was too pretty to waste indoors. So I loaded Chewy into a front pack and climbed on my new bicycle and went for a lovely ride. It was also Mother’s Day, a day celebrating our mothers. Mine is great. She gave me the gift of life, creativity, perseverance and joy. As a mother, I’m blessed with three wonderful children who are now my best friends. I hope your day was lovely and you got some of this glorious sunshine!
